Lauren Light

When you see this bubbly personality and energized smile you would never guess that underneath it all is a voice with such a soulful pop edge. Most compare Lauren Light’s style to a mixture of Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson and Fiona Apple all stirred together. Her music has started to catch an audience with her Lyrics that seem to capture reality. Lauren Light said: “When I write a song, I want to write lyrics people can relate to. Whether it is playful, heartache, or about sappy love; I want them to feel like I am writing their story.”

At the advice of others, she decided to first dive into the music industry world to get her feel for the industry and how it worked. Just a few months after graduating high school she worked for a local music booking company, and took classes at Berklee Online. She received a Master’s Certificate in Music Business/Songwriting and a Scholarship. She has performed with a handful of bands touring from her home town of Lexington NC all the way to New Mexico. She has also been featured on News 2 for a Haiti Benefit concert, and performed in the Save the Arts Awards show. She is making a huge splash into the music scene this year from winning Kernersville Idol, being a Nominee in the Carolina Music Awards 2011 for Rock Female, and getting runner up for “Go Traids” Best New Act.

Since starting her live band in June 2011, Lauren and her band have been booked weekly. Playing places such as Everybody’s Day, the High Point Furniture Market, Summertime Brews Festival and Ziggy’s just for starters.  She also just received word she will open for Dia Frampton, of “The Voice” this February.  Her song “Stay With Me” was featured in a local North Carolina Clothing commercial. And she released two successful music videos and gained press from local and national media.

In addition to her 12 original compositions, Lauren Light and her band also perform these

Steady Eddies

The Steady Eddies are a Wilmington, NC band whose mission statement is simply, “Give the people what they want!” This trio of skilled and versatile musicians is passionate about doing just that. A few minutes at a Steady Eddies show will make it obvious that these guys truly love what they do. Their joy and enthusiasm will have even the most dedicated wallflower up on the dance floor.

Eddie Todd (drums, vocals), Greg Miller (guitar, bass, vocals) and Mark Weathers (bass, guitar, vocals) play the greatest hits of the classic rock era, plus a sprinkling of soul gems and honky tonk favorites. Think Rolling Stones to Hank Jr.; Skynyrd to Prince; Billy Idol to Sublime. In short, if you’ve got a favorite song, it’s likely they play it.
